Seriously, ANOTHER game? Really? REALLY?
That up there is what I should have told myself when the Steam Summer Sale started, but OH NO! Instead I said “OH MY GOD FINALLY STEAM SALE I HAVE WAITED SOOOO LOOOOONG.”
And then all my top wishlisted games went on a days long sale parade: Anno 2070. Skyrim. The Walking Dead. L.A. Noire.
And I had to buy them all because, you know, they’re on SALE. It would be wrong of me not to get them now. The thing is though, I now have – let me count – 23 games that I haven’t finished. That’s not counting simulator games (some of which I haven’t tried yet), episodic games and games that came in bundles.
So I’m going to need to be strict with myself now. I have to finish something. I hardly ever finish games, the recent exception being Dragon Age Origins & 2, but this has to stop.
These are the rules: Until I have finished AT LEAST ONE of my “older” games, I am not allowed to start any of the new ones (with the exception of The Walking Dead because, umm, I’m already almost done with episode 1…). I should also try my damndest not to veer into other older games, with the exception of 1) Simulator games and 2) Cutesy platformers – because I play those kinds of games just to unwind when life gets me down. When life gets me down I do not want a challenge, I just want to build an empire and rule the world, ok? Ok.
First up: Mass Effect.
Oh, wait. A third exception: Bioshock. Because, you know, that whole blog category has been dead for a while, so I need to do something about that. I’m scared already. Hold me.
